Touch screens, touch display, touch panels, touch sensors or touch screen panels. All these words describe touch mechanisms in an LCD or CRT display.
Touch screens make it possible to use a display as an primairy input device, so by using a computer it's not nessecairy to use a keyboard or mouse any more. These displays can be connected to a computer, or as terminals on site.
Power Products s.r.o. offers you touch sensors of the following producers:
- 3M Touch Systems
- EloTouch Systems
- DMC
Basic layout according to the technology used:
- Resistive
- Capacitive (electric sensitive)
- Acoustic (surface acoustic wave - SAW)
- Infrared (photo sensitive)
Technologies:
-Resistive
Resistive touch screens are built in two layers. The upper polyester layer is streched at the distance of only a few thousanth of a millimeter from the underlaying glass sensor.

- Capacitive (electric sensitive)

- Acoustic (surface acoustic wave - SAW)

- Infrared (photo sensitive)
This technology is meant to be used in very complicated applications. It's one of the techniques, where one can't rely on the surface sensors for touch registration, where it is practically impossible to make use of a touch surface. This technique combines outstanding optical input with outstanding screen quality. The touch of a finger, glove, nail or pencil will always result in a quick and accurate respons.
